About THE CONFERENCE
Connections form an integral part of any structure. It could be concrete-to-concrete, concrete-tosteel, steel-to-steel, steel-to-brick, wood-to-concrete etc. Connections can be formed using systems that are cast-in-place or post-installed. Cast-in-place connections are the oldest and most basic type of connection for concrete structures. Cast-in headed bolts, hooked anchor bolts, shear connectors and cast-in anchor channels are some examples of this connection type. Since their introduction basic post-installed anchoring and rebaring systems have also developed into well engineered products to cater to complex applications like strengthening applications, assembly of facade, assembly of pre-engineered buildings (PEBs) etc, to meet productivity requirements.

Apart from productivity, sustainability and safety have become key topics in the construction market, which has paved way for the next generation of cast-in and post-installed connection systems. Performance, reliability, safety, ease of installation and green technology are some key parameters that are now considered by international consultants before selection of connection systems.

This one day conference by Indian Concrete Institute, New Delhi Centre (ICI, NDC) on structural connections aims to bring different stakeholders under one roof to discuss the challenges and latest developments in the field of connections.
